buddi is a cannabis education and journaling app. It is designed to work fully on your device, with no account required. You may optionally create an account to back up and sync your data across devices. This policy explains what is collected in each case.
By default, buddi stores all of your data — journal entries, preferences, custom strains, and settings — locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. In guest mode this data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself. We do not receive it.
buddi offers optional accounts so you can sync and back up your data. Creating an account is not required to use the app. To create one, you provide an email address and password. We use this only to authenticate you and to associate your synced data with your account. Accounts and authentication are handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
When you are signed in, the data you create in buddi — journal entries, preferences, custom strains, and settings — is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (part of Google Firebase) in a private record tied to your account, so it can sync across your devices and survive reinstalling the app. Data created while signed in as a guest remains only on your device until you sign in.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers, and we do not ask for any personal information beyond the email used to sign in.
buddi does not use analytics, advertising networks, advertising cookies, or behavioral tracking. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.
buddi uses Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to provide accounts and cloud sync. Google processes and stores this data on our behalf on its infrastructure, subject to Google's privacy and security practices. See Firebase's privacy information for details. buddi has no other backend server.
buddi's COA scanner feature may request access to your device camera solely to scan QR codes on product labels. Camera access is only active while the scanner is open and is not used for any other purpose. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
buddi requires users to confirm they are 21 or older to use the app. This confirmation is stored locally on the device and is not transmitted or verified externally.
Local (on-device) data can be removed at any time using the in-app data controls or by uninstalling the app.
If you have an account, you can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your synced data from Cloud Firestore and deletes your Firebase Authentication record. You may also request deletion of your account and data by emailing tgiamberini95@gmail.com; we will process the request and confirm by reply.
buddi is intended only for adults 21 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
buddi is an educational reference app intended for adults in jurisdictions where cannabis is legal. It does not facilitate the purchase, sale, or delivery of cannabis products.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
